Clinton campaign says it will pay for a Trump ad buy in 2020

The Clinton campaign on Wednesday said it will contribute $1.5 million to help the Republican presidential candidate pay for ads during the next two presidential elections.

The campaign announced the contribution, which is part of a larger $1 million commitment to help run ads through the 2020 election cycle.

“We will use our new political resources to further build a stronger, more diverse Democratic Party, and elect progressive candidates who will fight for our country’s future,” campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement.

Trump has long accused the Clintons of being beholden to the banks and other big corporations for favors, and the candidate has repeatedly promised to make it a priority in his campaign.
