Pomelo, which makes women’s and men’s fashion accessories, is expanding its reach in the U.S. as it looks to diversify.CEO Mike Pompelo announced the launch of the new brand, which he expects will be more widely available in the United States.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to create the brand that’s going to be more accessible for everyone,” he said.
“It’s a unique, very personal brand, so we’re trying to build that.”
The brand, created by Pompelos son-in-law and founder of Pompela fashion office, Adam Stec, focuses on high-quality designs and services, with its mission to help women “be more confident, more empowered, and more beautiful” with accessories and fashion.
The company says it plans to open stores in the Midwest and the Southeast in 2018.
“We’re looking forward to partnering with some of the very best designers in the industry,” Pompeli said.
“Women and men are really excited to be part of this,” he added.
Pomelo was founded in 1998 by Pomerelo, who became a fashion entrepreneur after attending New York Fashion Week in 1997.
The business is now owned by a team of about 50 people.
Pompelinos father-in the fashion business, Richard Pompellos, is the chief operating officer of the company.
Pompelo said it’s important for the brand to focus on its women’s product line.
“The idea of having this brand is that it’s not just a woman’s product, it’s a product that’s made for women,” Pomerelo said.
Pomerelo launched the company in March 2017.
